Replacing a 120 mm LED Module in a Rotomolded PE Illuminated Stool
A two-unit VC-LN120 sample selection based on the opening, bolt pattern, installation depth, charging voltage and customer photos.
A customer in the United States needed to restore a rotomolded PE illuminated stool after the original rechargeable light stopped holding charge. Based on the reported dimensions, charging method and installation photographs, the VC-LN120 120 mm direct-charge RGBW LED module was selected for a two-unit sample order.
VC-LN120 was selected because the customer reported a 120 mm opening, the same bolt pattern, 72 mm installation depth and a 5 V charger. Diameter alone is not enough: the mounting points, depth, charging arrangement and sealing must also be checked.
Project details
The stool remained useful after the original light failed.
The PE stool body remained serviceable, but its original rechargeable lighting unit could no longer retain a charge. Replacing the internal module offered a way to keep the rotomolded product in use without replacing the complete stool.

Module selection
Why VC-LN120 was chosen for the sample.
VC-LN120 is a 120 mm rechargeable RGBW module for illuminated PE furniture and related products. The standard platform uses 5 V direct charging, with USB-C or DC selected for the required configuration. Its listed configuration includes a 4,400 mAh battery, 24 RGB plus 24 white LEDs, 5.8 W power and an IP65 module rating.
The customer reported a 120 mm opening, the same bolt pattern, 107 mm hole distance, 72 mm available depth and a 5 V charger. The photographs also showed the intended mounting position. These details supported the sample selection, but they are not a universal rule for every 120 mm light.

Compatibility
Diameter is only the first replacement check.
Two modules with the same nominal diameter can use different mounting holes, depths, connectors, polarity, controls or sealing structures. Start with a clear photo of the old module and opening, plus the approximate size, charging voltage and quantity. Vcan can ask for any additional detail only when it is needed.
For outdoor or splash exposure, the finished product also depends on the furniture opening, gasket condition, screw pressure, charging-port protection, orientation, drainage and installation quality. An IP65 module does not automatically make the complete stool IP65.
Sample result
Two VC-LN120 samples were selected for the replacement check.
The available photographs show the module positioned at the stool opening, installed at the bottom and illuminated during testing. They document the fitting and lighting check, but they do not establish long-term runtime, long-term outdoor performance or the waterproof rating of the complete stool.

Can any 120 mm LED module replace an existing 120 mm unit?
No. The nominal diameter is only one compatibility factor. The mounting pattern, opening, available depth, charging method, connector, controls and sealing must also match.
Can a failed battery be replaced without replacing the complete LED module?
It depends on the original construction and available battery. When the charging circuit, controller, LEDs or sealed housing are also aged or uncertain, a complete matched module may be more practical.
Does an IP65 module make the complete stool IP65?
No. The finished product also depends on the opening, gasket, screw pressure, charging-port protection, orientation, drainage and installation quality.
