Real OEM order case
From One VC-LN120 Sample to a Paid 50-Unit Order
A French manufacturer evaluated one complete rechargeable RGBW LED module set, approved the sample and moved to a 50-set batch.
This project began with one VC-LN120sample for a French manufacturer. After evaluating the physical product and complete accessory set, the buyer approved the sample, paid for 50 units and moved into batch production.
One sample led to a paid order for 50 complete VC-LN120 sets. The batch is currently in production; it has not yet been described as delivered, installed or proven in long-term use.
Project details
A controlled step from evaluation to production.
The buyer was looking for a rechargeable RGBW lighting module to integrate into its own product. Instead of moving directly to a production quantity, the project started with one complete sample set so the buyer could evaluate the actual module, charging arrangement, remote control and physical dimensions.
| Buyer | French manufacturer (name withheld) |
|---|---|
| Product | VC-LN120 rechargeable RGBW LED module |
| Evaluation order | 1 complete sample set |
| Follow-up order | 50 complete sets |
| Current status | Payment completed; batch production in progress |
| Approved configuration | LED module, rechargeable battery, IR remote, USB-C cable and charger |
| Measured base diameter | 120.0 mm |
| Measured dome width | Approximately 90.4 mm |
| Measured overall height | Approximately 72.2 mm |
Sample evaluation
The sample reduced uncertainty before the 50-set order.
Drawings and specifications are useful, but an integration buyer also needs to handle the actual product. A complete sample gives the engineering and purchasing teams an opportunity to inspect fit, charging access, remote operation, light diffusion and the supplied accessories before production.
In this case, the buyer accepted the sample and placed the follow-up order. That commercial decision is reported as the project outcome; it is not presented as a public endurance test or a claim about the performance of the buyer's finished product.
Batch status
The paid 50-set follow-up order is now in production.

Recording the project at this stage keeps the case accurate: payment has been completed and manufacturing is underway, while final shipment, delivery and integration remain later steps.
Physical verification
Key external dimensions were checked on the real module.
The photographs below document the production unit itself. The measured base diameter is 120.0 mm, the dome width is approximately 90.4 mm and the overall height is approximately 72.2 mm. Buyers should still verify their own opening, available depth and mounting geometry rather than relying on diameter alone.

OEM buying lesson
Approve the exact configuration, not only the model number.
A model name identifies the platform, but an OEM order also depends on the charging interface, cable and charger, remote, battery, LED behaviour, mounting and packaging. Those choices should be frozen against the approved sample before batch production begins.
Market-specific compliance documents should likewise be checked against the exact supplied configuration and intended use. A request for documentation is not the same as proof that every document applies to every possible configuration.

Questions
From sample approval to batch production.
Why order a VC-LN120 sample before a production batch?
A physical sample lets the buyer check dimensions, mounting, charging, remote operation, light behaviour and integration with the intended product before committing to a larger quantity.
What happened after this customer evaluated the sample?
The customer approved the sample, paid for 50 complete VC-LN120 sets and moved to batch production. The order is still in production and is not described here as delivered or installed.
Does every VC-LN120 order use the same charging accessories?
No. VC-LN120 can be configured for USB-C or DC direct charging. The connector, cable, charger, remote and other accessories must be confirmed for the exact order before sampling.
What should an OEM buyer send before requesting a sample?
Send the product application, opening and available depth, mounting-hole positions, charging preference, control requirements, target quantity and destination country. Drawings and installation photos are helpful when available.
Customer identity and contact details are withheld. This case documents the confirmed order sequence and current production status without claiming delivery, installation or long-term field performance.
