Customer's illuminated RGB light ball undergoing a real swimming-pool test

Verified 10-year induction LED kit case

From 20 Samples to 10 Years of IP68 Induction LED Kit Orders

An illuminated-furniture factory tested 85 mm and 120 mm kits, then placed recurring annual orders of 500 or 1,000 sets.

A Vcan customer has manufactured illuminated furniture and translucent decorative products with Vcan induction LED kits for 10 years. The relationship began on 2016 with 10 samples of the 85 mm kit and 10 samples of the 120 mm kit. After professional testing by the customer's company, repeat production orders began in the same year. Multiple 200-set orders followed during 2016 and 2017, with later annual batches commonly reaching 500 or 1,000 sets.

Short answer

The customer started with 20 sample sets across two sizes in 2016, completed professional testing, and immediately progressed to repeated 200-set production orders. Later batches increased to 500 and 1,000 sets during a 10-year relationship. Customer pool photographs and real batch video show how the technology was evaluated and used in illuminated balls.

From samples to long-term production

The relationship moved from samples to production in 2016.

The illuminated-furniture manufacturer did not begin with a large production commitment. It first ordered 10 sets of the 85 mm induction kit and 10 sets of the 120 mm induction kit. The customer's company then carried out its own professional testing before approving the lighting platforms for ongoing use.

The customer did not wait two years to begin production. Multiple 200-set orders followed during 2016 and 2017. As the relationship continued, order sizes grew to common annual batches of 500 or 1,000 sets. This case stays focused on the 85 mm and 120 mm induction platforms so the application evidence remains clear.

Customer profile and end products

The buyer makes illuminated furniture, not only pool light balls.

The customer used compact induction kits inside smaller spherical products and 120 mm kits inside larger balls. The finished glowing balls could be placed in pools to create decorative colour effects. Because the customer is an illuminated-furniture factory, the same module platforms were also used across other translucent furniture and decorative housings.

This distinction matters when selecting a module. The end product's opening, internal depth, diffusion distance and required light output decide whether an 85 mm or 120 mm platform is more appropriate; the word “pool” alone does not.

Documented production order

Production grew from repeated 200-set orders to larger batches.

After sample approval, the customer placed multiple 200-set orders during 2016 and 2017. A later production record confirms a 500-set order for an 85 mm IP68 induction kit using a historical 4 RGB + 8 white LED layout. Subsequent purchases commonly reached 500 or 1,000 sets.

The public case describes the progression and approved product configuration only. Customer identity, pricing, invoices, payment records, shipping terms and other commercial documents remain private.

Two diameters for different housings

The same factory ordered both 85 mm and 120 mm induction platforms.

The smaller platform is represented in Vcan's current range by VC-LI85, while the larger platform is represented by VC-LI120. The customer selected between them according to the size of the sphere or illuminated furniture body rather than forcing one diameter into every product.

Annual repeat batches were commonly 500 or 1,000 sets. This article does not calculate or imply a lifetime total because the available records cover multiple orders and configurations rather than one continuous purchase contract.

Customer's real pool evaluation

The illuminated ball was tested directly in a swimming pool.

The following photographs came from the customer's pool test. They show the translucent ball floating in the water while illuminated in two colours. The test provided real application evidence beyond a dry indoor lighting check.

These photographs confirm the pool application, but they do not identify whether the photographed ball contains the 85 mm or 120 mm kit. The article therefore does not assign a specific module diameter to the pictured product.

Real application evidence

A batch video shows the small illuminated balls responding together.

The 30-second vertical video below shows a real batch of small spherical products cycling through white and RGB colours while an operator uses a handheld remote. It demonstrates batch response and colour output for this type of application.

Batch packing evidence

The carton marking records the 85 mm 4+8 configuration.

A production-stage photograph shows export cartons handwritten with “85 mm 4+8” and “150 pcs.” It supports the recorded configuration and batch-packing process. The 150-piece marking refers to the shown carton packing, not the complete quantity of every repeat order.

Order-specific LED layout

“4RGB+8W” means four RGB LEDs and eight white LEDs.

In the historical order, “W” was shorthand for white LEDs, not watts. The approved kit contained four RGB LEDs and eight white LEDs. This configuration should not be confused with the current standard VC-LI85 listing, which uses a different LED layout.

Confirm the approved sample, not only the diameter

An 85 mm housing can support different PCB, LED, battery, remote and charging configurations over time. A repeat order should reference the approved sample, drawing and commercial specification rather than relying on “85 mm” alone.

For pool and outdoor applications

IP68 at module level does not certify the complete light ball.

Induction charging avoids an exposed plug-in charging port on the light module and supports a sealed design. That makes it useful for illuminated balls and furniture exposed to splashing, cleaning or outdoor use. It does not remove the need to design and validate the complete product.

  • Confirm the shell opening, internal depth and mounting-hole pattern
  • Control water entry through every housing joint and installation opening
  • Check buoyancy, stability and impact resistance for floating products
  • Keep charging equipment out of the pool and follow its approved operating conditions
  • Approve the remote protocol, colour modes and batch-control range
  • Validate the complete finished product for its destination market and intended use

Buyers can compare sealing claims in the IP65 versus IP68 guide and review charging choices in the direct-charge versus induction-charge guide.

Questions

85 mm and 120 mm induction LED kit repeat orders.

How did this 10-year customer relationship begin?

The illuminated-furniture manufacturer began in 2016 with 10 sets of the 85 mm induction kit and 10 sets of the 120 mm kit. After professional testing, the customer placed multiple 200-set production orders during 2016 and 2017.

Was the 500-piece 85 mm induction LED kit order completed?

Yes. The private order records confirm that production quantities progressed from repeated 200-set orders to a 500-set 85 mm IP68 order, with later batches commonly reaching 500 or 1,000 sets.

Did the same customer buy only the 85 mm version?

No. This illuminated-furniture manufacturer repeatedly purchased both 85 mm and 120 mm induction-charging kits, commonly in annual batches of 500 or 1,000 sets.

What does 4RGB+8W mean in the historical order?

It means four RGB LEDs plus eight white LEDs. In this order notation, 8W refers to eight white LEDs, not eight watts of electrical power.

Were the induction modules used only in pool light balls?

No. Smaller and larger illuminated balls were one application, including decorative use in pools. The buyer is an illuminated-furniture factory and also installed the modules in other translucent furniture products.

Does an IP68 module automatically make a finished pool light ball IP68?

No. The module-level rating does not automatically transfer to the finished ball. The complete housing, joints, mounting, buoyancy, charging arrangement and finished-product validation remain the manufacturer's responsibility.

Was the batch-test video filmed inside a swimming pool?

No. The video shows a real batch of small illuminated balls changing colours during a remote-control test. It supports the application evidence but is not presented as an in-pool installation video.

Evidence basis: private sample and production records beginning in 2016; professional testing by the customer's company; 10 years of repeat-order history for 85 mm and 120 mm induction kits; two customer pool-test photographs; a real batch-test video; and a production packing photograph. Customer identity, pricing, invoices, payment records, shipping terms and complete order documents are withheld. Pool decoration is one verified application within the buyer's broader illuminated-furniture business.
